Working under the direction of Terry Tree Farms, VODA worked with the client to design a landscape in keeping with the surrounding high desert landscape of Park City, Utah.
The client wanted a low-maintenance landscape that would also be water-wise. A plant palette was created that would be able to survive Park City’s snowy winters, but would also thrive in Utah’s long, hot summers. The final design incorporated large areas planted with a mix of native grasses and wildflowers, and minimized the amount of land covered with Kentucky bluegrass. Large slabs of local sandstone was used for paths and patios, and a path link to a trail running along the homesite was created to facilitate easy access to a larger trail system around the Swaner Nature Preserve.
