Over the weekend the Phase 1 Build Day for the Sugar House Community Garden took place. We had great help from volunteers, and the project absolutely would not have been possible without a major donation of time and materials from Lowe’s. Thanks to everyone who helped in turning this neglected part of the community into an asset. We were able to build 45 raised beds (12′ x 4′ x 18″) over two days. Many of the beds are already rented for the season, but its not too late to get one, if you’re interested. Visit sugarhousecommunitygarden.blog.com for more information.
What’s next? Well, now we have a summer of growing ahead of us. We’re going to be raising money for Phase 2 of what we hope is a very successful community garden.
