Mario Capecchi Drive Trail Improvements

Mario Capecchi Drive Trail Improvements

VODA  worked with Talisman Engineering to create a gap in the University of Utah’s active transportation network along Mario Capecchi Drive. With close proximity to several significant University destinations, this corridor was constrained by several large barriers for pedestrians and cyclists. The team worked with the University’s active transportation staff to design and construct a trail connection for improved access to both transit and educational facilities. Working with a plant palette of native and adaptive plants, the project also converted a large hillside of water-intensive turf to a more water wise and lower-maintenance design.
