VODA worked with community planning and development staff to established a small area plan to revitalize Midvale’s Main Street. Building on previous success in the Bingham Junction area adjacent to their historic Main Street, Midvale aims to strategically use funding and advocacy to bring new life to a struggling part of the community.
The project involved community outreach, economic analysis, and placemaking concepts to establish steps to attract new visitors and investment to Main Street. Using social media and community connections, the area plan is intended to generate new interest in the community in returning to Main Street, once the heart of the city.
Our team used our understanding of public financing, urban design, planning best practices, and innovative public outreach to create a plan that would implement community vision for the neighborhood.
