VODA worked closely with Salt Lake City RDA staff to perform public outreach and develop community reinvestment area plans for two areas of the City, State Street and the 9 Line, that have experienced disinvestment.
This project synthesized the goals of several adopted Salt Lake City Master Plans and developed a vision for the strategic implementation of these goals.
Each area is approximately 800 acres, and each faces a variety of challenges and opportunities. VODA performed an analysis of existing conditions and redevelopment potential, developed and refined area asset maps, and evaluated the potential impact of investment in newly-created and emerging centers in the project areas.
The goal of these area plans is to develop implementable projects that will catalyze redevelopment, support community entrepreneurship, and expand housing and transportation choice for area residents.
