Mark Morris, leading principal of VODA worked as a member of the management board for Sugar House Park for four years, including two years as president of the park authority board.
During that time, Mark managed and coordinated construction of Parley’s Trail through the park, identifying constraints and conflict points with existing landscape assets and coming up with clear solutions.
As a major regional park, the park authority oversees operations and maintenance of the park for visitors from across the metro area.
Sugar House Park is home to more than a hundred acres of park space, including trails, play areas, a large pond, and the main channel of Parley’s Creek through the Sugar House Area.
As president of the park authority board, Mark has experience with park maintenance and capital improvement cost management. With a long-term master plan on the books, Mark was able to push key aspects of park investments forward and ensure long-term financial sustainability of Sugar House Park.
