VODA has been involved with the design team crafting the Sugar House Streetcar Greenway. In early 2012 VODA worked to establish schematic plans for the corridor, identifying potential uses and community desires for the use of this public space. Design precedents were identified, and documents and graphics created to submit for public comment.
Additionally, VODA has been involved with mentoring planning students from the University of Utah. In the 2011-2012 school year VODA mentored a group of students looking at how the Streetcar Corridor could be used for optimal benefit of the community. Concepts were developed that focused future development in the corridor on sustainability, and how to communicate sustainability to the public through displays and public art.
VODA continues to be involved with creative development along the greenway, working with Friends of the Sugar House Streetcar to develop events and community outreach to the neighborhoods along the future greenway.
