VODA worked with Utah Department of Transportation personnel and transportation planning firm Township and Range to develop a toolkit for small towns in Utah to improve the quality of their Main Streets. This toolkit was intended to develop a structure and patterns for alterations to UDOT infrastructure in smaller cities throughout the state.
The toolkit aims to provide local communities and UDOT staff the ability to make improvements that will not only meet UDOT standards for transportation facilities, but improve Main Street quality for economic development objectives. Additionally, funding sources and outreach plans were mapped out to provide guidance for a variety of urban design improvements in rural communities.
